12- Setting up the execution context in a certain way, or

3533Drivers do not have to implement all operations, but each platform must
3534provide at least one driver for a device capable of supporting generic
3535operations such as loading a bootloader image.

3537The current implementation only allows for known images to be loaded by the
3538firmware. These images are specified by using their identifiers, as defined in

3544The layer is designed in such a way that is it possible to chain drivers with
3545other drivers. For example, file-system drivers may be implemented on top of
3546physical block devices, both represented by IO devices with corresponding
3547drivers. In such a case, the file-system "binding" with the block device may
3548be deferred until the file-system device is initialised.

3550The abstraction currently depends on structures being statically allocated
3551by the drivers and callers, as the system does not yet provide a means of
3552dynamically allocating memory. This may also have the affect of limiting the
3553amount of open resources per driver.
